Pharmaceutical Honours Programmes

What is the honours programme ‘Innovation in Pharmacy’?

The Honours Programme ‘Innovation in Pharmacy’ is an Honours Programme for master students who feel that the normal curriculum does not provide enough challenge or in-depth knowledge and are interested to actively take part in innovative developments in pharmacy.

The Honours Programme entails a total of at least 15 EC, divided over 2.5 years, of which 5 EC is for intracurricular activities and 10 EC is for extracurricular activities (see table).

The intracurricular part of the Honours Programme is divided into assignments related to the courses of the master Pharmacy and projects related to the internships of the master Pharmacy.

For the assignments related to the courses in the master Pharmacy you will receive an honourslabel. As an honours student you have the opportunity to do at least three challenging assignments related to different master courses of your own choice.

For projects related to your master research project or to your pharmacy internship you will get 5 EC. An examples of a project is writing a high level project proposal based on your master research project.

The Extracurricular part are assignments of your own choice. Examples of extracurricular honours projects performed by honours students in the past are: organization of a minisymposium about Medication and your body clock, writing a book on Pharmacy for laymen, organizing a workshop mind mapping, making the website for HPIP or initiating a research internship at a research group in the Netherlands or abroad. Important to note is that there are no strict guidelines of what an extracurricular activities should look like as long as it is related to pharmaceutical sciences. This gives you the full freedom to follow your personal interests and to explore your potential.
